History & background
Al-Hussain Mosque is the main mosque of Kampung Baru — a historic Malay enclave in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The current building was rebuilt in 1990, replacing older structures with modern Islamic design serving a large urban community.
Kampung Baru remains one of KL's most vibrant areas, with food bazaars, traditional shops, and strong Malay identity. The mosque is the daily and Friday prayer centre for thousands of nearby residents.
