What is prayer and why it matters
Salah is a pillar of faith — five daily obligatory prayers that connect the worshipper with Allah.
Salah (obligatory prayer) is worship performed five times daily: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. It is among the most fundamental pillars of Islam after the testimony of faith.
Its importance: strengthening God-consciousness, marking daily responsibility, and structuring a Muslim's day. In Malaysia, prayer times are set by JAKIM following the Shafi'i school.
