Common prayer time mistakes
Wrong zone, using Google without JAKIM check, mixing times from different states — avoid these mistakes.
Common mistakes when using prayer times:
- Wrong zone — using KL (WLY01) in Sabah/Sarawak; each city has its own JAKIM zone
- Google / generic apps — different calculation methods; for Malaysia, use JAKIM e-Solat
- Mixing sources — Fajr from one app, Maghrib from another
- Wrong date — times shift 1–2 minutes daily; check today's schedule
- Imsak vs Fajr — during Ramadan, stop eating at imsak, not fajr
- Asr — JAKIM uses Shafi'i method; Hanafi apps may show later Asr
Check your city zone on this site and verify on e-Solat if unsure.
