Sabah and Sarawak
Sabah and Sarawak have 18 JAKIM zones of their own (9 + 9). Maghrib in Kota Kinabalu or Kuching is not Maghrib in Kuala Lumpur. Travellers to Borneo must switch zones. Skip this if you already opened an SBH or SWK page.
Do Sabah and Sarawak use Kuala Lumpur prayer times?
Sabah and Sarawak have 18 JAKIM zones of their own (9 + 9). Maghrib in Kota Kinabalu or Kuching is not Maghrib in Kuala Lumpur. Travellers to Borneo must switch zones. Skip this if you already opened an SBH or SWK page.
Does Sabah use the same times as KL?
No. East Malaysia has 18 JAKIM zones — 9 Sabah and 9 Sarawak. Examples: SBH07 Kota Kinabalu, SWK08 Kuching. WLY01 is only Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
On the same day, Fajr and Maghrib in KK differ from KL. Copy-pasting peninsula times to Borneo is a common global-app error.
How do I pick a zone in Borneo?
Pick the district, not “Sabah” as one clock. Sabah has nine zones; the west coast and the interior are not the same. Sarawak likewise — Kuching is not Miri.
- Open the destination city in the city list.
- Note the SBH or SWK code.
- Use that zone's imsakiyah while you are there, not your home zone.
What about Labuan?
Labuan is WLY02, a separate federal territory — still not WLY01. Do not merge the three federal territories into one table.
General zones: JAKIM zones. Travel: travel prayer times.
