Al-Widadiah Tuanku Syed Putra Mosque opened in 1991 as Perlis state mosque in Kangar. Named after Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail — Sultan of Perlis — it serves Malaysia's smallest state.
Perlis is unique with only one JAKIM zone (PLS01) — one prayer timetable for the entire state from Kangar to Padang Besar. The state mosque is the main Friday prayer centre for all Perlis residents.
