# JAKIM prayer zones

> Malaysia uses 59 JAKIM prayer zones. Each zone (codes like WLY01, SGR01) covers districts that share a timetable. Do not copy KL times to Sabah. Skip this if you already know your code — open the city page.

## What is a JAKIM prayer zone?

A JAKIM zone is a set of districts with one timetable. Codes such as **WLY01** (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya), **WLY02** (Labuan), **SGR01** (Petaling, Shah Alam) name the zone, not a postcode. Neighbouring towns may differ.

Timetables cover **219 districts and cities** across the peninsula, Sabah, and Sarawak. Use search or “use my location” for the exact zone — do not treat “Malaysia” as one clock.

## How many zones, and why do they differ?

59 zones. Sunrise and sunset shift with longitude and latitude. Eastern peninsula zones (Kelantan, Terengganu) differ by minutes from Johor. East Malaysia has 18 zones of its own.

## How do I find my zone code?

Open your city page here — the code sits under the title. Match it on e-Solat. Search aliases (PJ, JB, KK) point at the same official location, not an invented zone.

- Name the district, not only the state.

- Open the [city list](/en/cities/) or search.

- Note the code (e.g. SGR01) and compare Fajr/Maghrib with e-Solat.
